Ages 3 - 7
Performance Basics
If you have a child between the ages of 3-6 do we have a class for you! Join us for a six
week session in Creative Movement, Beginning Acting and Rhythm Techniques. This FUN
and creative class will introduce the younger student to performance skills in a supportive
environment. Classes begin September 24  and run every Thursday for six weeks. Students
will also have the opportunity to come back and perform in our musical at the Kean
Theatre in January.
Ages 7-8
Acting & Musical Theatre - Level 1
In this class students will learn memorization skills, stage direction and, through theatre
games and scene work begin to learn to think for themselves when creating characters.
They also begin basic choreography and musical theatre songs.
Students must be able to read to take this class.
Ages 9-11
Acting - Level 2
Students will begin script and character analysis and start to move past reciting lines and
into acting. Improv, fun theatre games and serious scene work are important for actors of
this age.
Musical Theatre - Level 2
Students begin combining acting, singing and dance and the interesting way in which these
all come together in musical theatre. Time is spent in performance technique as well as
studying musicals. Character shoes are required for girls taking this class.
Ages 12-13
Acting 3
Students study the difference in acting for fun and as a profession. Through scene study
and character analysis, students will learn to create three dimensional and interesting
characters. Students study drama and comedy acting as well as improv and film acting.
Musical Theatre 3
Students in this class spend much of their time learning music and choreography. Students
study the work of different choreographers and present songs in groups. Character shoes
required for girls. Guys need black dress shoes or jazz shoes.A very fun and challenging
class!
Private lessons in voice and piano are offered for ages 12 - Adult.

Dialects
An actor's voice is his or her most important tool! Effective voice use can mean a huge
difference in creating a character as well as in such everyday tasks as public speaking. A
challenging, but fun subject, students learn dialects such as British, Irish, Cockney and
more!

Class schedule

Ages 14-19
Acting 4
Students begin working at a more professinal level and learn what it means to be a
professional actor. Different acting techniques are taught through scene study and script
analysis. Comdy, drama and farce are explored and practiced. Students will also study the
difference between acting for stage, film and commercial. Students work on camera to
perfect their technique.
Musical Theatre
There is an increased focus on dance in this level. The majority of time is spent on singing
and learning choreography, though students also begin to study the history of musical
theatre and its importance in society. Different musicals are studied to give students a
broader sense of the art.
New and experienced students are welcome at Paragon!
